Be Forward Wanderers skipper Francis Mulimbika has played in the Blantyre derby on more than 10 occasions since making his debut for the Nomads
The leftback has challenged his teammates to maintain their ten unbeaten run in the league this season when they host Nyasa Big Bullets in the Blantyre Derby at Kamuzu Stadium this afternoon from 2:30pm.
Mulimbika ‚ a veteran of over 10 derbies ‚ is confident that the Nomads have the ability to avoid defeat against their rivals.
“For us it’s very important to focus on our strengths‚” said Mukimbika‚ who joined the Nomads from Nsundwe United.
“We don’t want to buy the talk that Bullets are the underdogs simply because of their current form.
“I can’t say much about Bullets but there’s a lot of homework that we’ve done on their current team.
“The guys are motivated and you can’t motivate them more when they are going to play in the derby.
“So for us it is just to implement what we’ve been doing at training.”
Mulimbika also had a simple message for the new Nomads players who could make their debuts in the derby this afternoon.
“The guys that are young and new in the team must just take it easy in the derby‚” said Mulimbika.
“I want them to play their normal game because this is going to be a very tactical game.”
“It’s true that the derby is not simple because there are a lot of people watching and it’s up to you as a player to do your best on the day.”
But the best that Mulimbika can hope for from his teammates this afternoon is another victory to maintain our position on the log.
“To all Wanderers fans l say come in your large numbers and we are ready to die for you in the field of play.
