Be Forward Wanderers displayed a six star perfomance despite loosing 4-2 in the post match penalties against a select side comprised of League teams in Mozambique.
The game took place on Monday in Quelimane as part of the cities 75th Anniversary celebrations.
The Nomads, who arrived on Saturday in a journey of 416 kilometres from Blantyre showed character and composure for the entire 90 minutes.
Upfront,Esau Kanyenda partnered Khumbo Ng’ambi while Alfred Manyozo jnr and Joseph Kamwendo were left with the mantle to man the middle of the park.
Yamikani Chester and Isaac Kaliat operated from the wings,while Harry Nyirenda,Lucky Malata,Ted Sumani and Stanely Sanudi were given a task in defence.
The first shot for the Nomads came in the 7th minute when Esau Kanyenda’s shot was saved by the keeper for a corner kick.
Then Khumbo Ng’ambi scored in the 16th minute but the referee dissalowed the goal for off side.
Twice the referee also denied that would be goals for the Nomads for offside.
However,the home team are also themselves to blame for failing to kill off the game towards the end of the game.
For instance,in the 80th minute one of their striker face to face with Chipuwa lacked composure as his shot went wide.
After 90 minutes,they resorted that penalties should be the only solution to find a winner.
Wanderers converted their penalties through Stanely Sanudi with Isaac Kaliat.
Joseph Kamwendo and Jabulani Linje missed their penalties.
The Nomads were however,saluted with a trophy by the mayor of the city of quelimane for their six star perfomance.
Also present during the match was Mayor of the city of Blantyre Wild Ndipo.
