Be Forward Wanderers are out this weekend to keep title hopes alive as they hosts Chitipa United on Saturday before another tricky assignment on Sunday against Blue Eagles at the Balaka Stadium.
The Nomads are now placed first on the log with 22 points from 9 matches. They have netted 11 goals.
In Saturday’s encounter against Chitipa United, the Nomads are set to miss their defending midfielder Alfred Manyozo jnr. The workhorse will be serving his suspension after being shown two yellow cards.
Wanderer’s team manager Steven Madeira says his charges are hurting following their surprise defeat to Civil Sporting Club, but they are now focusing on the two weekend games.
“The boys are hurting. I don’t think it’s a case of not wanting to perform. For whatever reason it just didn’t happen against Civil Sporting.” Madeira said.
“Every game is important. We explained that we needed to collect 6 points in our previous assignments against Civil and Masters; unfortunately we managed only 3 points which is not bad.
Meanwhile, Chitipa United coach Kondwani Mwalweni has attribute to long distance as a contributing factor to their poor form in the League.
He said travelling from Chitipa to Southern or central region is giving headache to his players in as far as fatigue is concerned.
Chitipa are placed on the tail of the league table with 4 points from 10 matches.
