Wanderers into #2017CarlsbergCup Semis After Beating Blue Eagles

Be Forward Wanderers have booked their place into the semi finals of Carlsberg cup after beating Blue Eagles 3-2 on post match penalties on Saturday  at Civo Stadium.

The first 90 minutes failed to seperate the two after it ended 1-1 forcing the referee Patrick Ngoleka to send the match straight into penalty shoot out.

Blue Eagles were the first to score after 10 minutes through Micium Mhone with a volley cross beating Wanderers keeper Richard Chipuwa before Stanley Sanudi equalised for The Nomads, just 9 minutes before the final whistle through penalty.

During the penalty shoot out, Wanderers converted through Sanudi, Ted Sumani and Alfred Manyozo Jnr while Peter Wadabwa and Linje missed.

The two goals for Blue Eagles came from Wonder Jeremani and Salambula before Chipuwa saved three spot kicks from Oswald Maonga, Chisomo Chilasa and Gregory Nachipo.

The win has brought morale to the Lali Lubani boys follawing last weekend’s shocking 1-0 defeat in the hands of their arch rivals Nyasa Big Bullets at Bingu National Stadium in TNM Super League.
