Wanderers Go 7 Points Clear

Be Forward Wanderers remarkable run in the TNM Super League continued at the weekend when they bagged six points to go seven points clear at the top of the table.

On Saturday, the Nomads  beat  table anchors Chitipa United 2-1 at Balaka Stadium before seeing off Blue Eagles 1-0 24 hours later.

The Nomads now have 28 points from 11 games.

Jaffalie Chande scored a brace on Saturday while Wacheta Mwenifumbo got the consolation goal for the scholars whereas Precious Msosa netted the lone goal against the cops.

Against Eagles, Wanderers had a chance to extend the lead when they were awarded a penalty at the dot of full time after Vitumbiko Kumwenda handled the ball in the box, but Alfred Manyozo Jnr’s spot-kick was kept out by the cops’ ‘keeper John Soko.

Nomads coach Yasin Osman hailed his charges for the hard-fought victory.

Wanderers next fixture is on Sunday against Nyasa Big Bullets at the Bingu National Stadium.
