Be Forward Wanderers captain Francis Mulimbika has declared his side’s readiness for the colossal league battle against Mafco FC and says fireworks are to be expected as usual.
The Nomads will face Mafco in the elite TNM Super League on Sunday at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe.
“This is still one of the biggest matches in the Malawi football calendar which means players are always motivated the occasion,” he said.
“They beat us during pre-season at Kamuzu Stadium and a win is equally important to us on Sunday so that we get revenge. Big sides always want to be on top and we are no different.”
The lion-hearted left back predicts an open match of free flow football and says total technical discipline will be the deference between winning and losing.
“We expect them to come at us but we also intend firing from the cylinders, which means any lapse of concentration from either side will be punishable because of the quality on the table”
“In this particular encounter it doesn’t matter who’s playing at home or away the tempo is always raised as both sides always bring their best game. The one that execute their game plan best will walk away with maximum points”
The captain also commented on the competitive levels at the club and says the team can only get better.
“The players who have been afforded the opportunity to play by our technical team have raised their hands very high and that pushes the team’s competitive levels up. We can only get better from here onwards”
