Six games without conceding Be Forward Wanderers FC goalkeeper, Nenani Juwaya is the only gloveman in the 2019 TNM Super League yet to concede a goal in six consecutive matches.
The Nomads keeper and his defence have registered seven clean sheets in eight outings thus far, while the team’s attack have amassed 14 goals. The Nomads, who are on the summit table of 16 teams, have won six games against Karonga United, Dwangwa United, Mzuni FC, Kamuzu Barracks, Mlatho Mponela, Civil Sporting Club, drawn once to Chitipa United and loosing once to Blue Eagles.
Juwaya said team work, dedication and unity is the only secret to his performance and the entire team.
“It’s a good record for us as a team, having kept four seven clean sheets in 7 games, but we’ve been working hard as a team and been encouraging all the departments to play their part and do well for the team. We’re still unbeaten in six games in a role, we still haven’t conceded a single goal in seven matches, we’ve scored the greatest number of goals, so those are the things we [take confidence from].
“But we keep telling ourselves that we must keep our feet firmly on the ground and keep grinding for more [solid performances]. We obviously have to prepare mentally, physically and emotionally because we know how tough it is to play in the Super League,” said Juwaya.
The Nomads goal custodian has also identified areas in which his side need to capitalise if they are to get the all-important points needed to challenge for the title.
“Many teams will be coming hard on us to bully us, but we have to be focus and avoid underrating any side. We have to play any game as a final match ,” he added.
