Four Beforward Wanderers players will be in senior international action in the coming days as only few weeks remaining before TNM Super League kicks off.

Stanley Sanudi, Francis Mulimbika, Lucky Malata and Yamikani Chester are in the Malawi’s national team squad that have left this afternoon for Madagascar to kick-start their 2018 Championship of African Nations (Chan) campaign against Madagascar.

“This game is important to our nation but it will also give us a chance as Wanderers players in the squad  to  keep ourselves in shape ahead of the League kick Off,” Francis Mulimbika told Be Forward Wanderers Media.

Malawi will start away on the weekend of April 20-22 while the second leg is slated for a week later during the weekend of April 28-30.

The winner between the two teams will face Mozambique’s Mambas in July. Should the Flames beat both Madagascar and Mozambique they will face winners between Mauritius/Seychelles and Angola’s Negras Palancas in the final round.

Chan is a tournament specifically for local-based players which was introduced by CAF as one way of promoting local talent.
