Be Forward Wanderers have been handed a huge boost for their TNM Super League clash against Kamuzu Barracks on Sunday with Foster Namwela returning from injury, reports Be Forward Wanderers FC media.
The pillar missed out on the final of Carlsberg Cup game, leaving the Nomads short at the back as Lucky Malata was also injured.
The situation only escalated when Harry Nyirenda was stretched off deep in the second half for being elbowed on the upper by Chiukepo Msowoya.
While the Nomads may have been able to hold firm during the match it will come as a relief having Namwela’s experience at the back when facing a Kamuzu Barracks side which has towering strikers.
However, Lucky Malata is still a doubt for the weekend’s action as he recovers from a rib injury, but on Nyirenda, who sustained a cut in Saturdays final, team doctor Samuel Matukuta is remaining confident that he will recover in time for the match.
Some of the Nomads players, who have been out for the whole first round due to injuries include Amos Bello and Ishmael Thindwa.
The Nomads are currently on the first slot with 35 points. A point ahead of Silver Strikers, who drew 0-0 on Sunday against Blue Eagles.
