Babatunde, Harry Nyirenda and Zicco Mkanda were Be Forward Wanderers heroes on Saturday in scintillating style by outclassing Mzuni FC in the 2019 TNM Super League opener at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.
The Nomads demolished Mzuni FC 5-0.
The rout started after a few minutes when the visitors were caught napping by Semion Singa’s corner kick which left defender, Harry Nyirenda to fire in at the far post through a powerful header .
There after, it was new catch from Masters Security, Babatunde, who curled a magnificent right-foot finish past the stretching Mzuni goalkeeper to make it 2-0.
Wanderers who dominated the entire 90 minutes displayed fantastic football, especially on the midfield where Alfred Manyozo jnr partnered Semion Singa.
On recess time it was 2-0 in favour of the Nomads, who started with Richard Chipuwa in goals, while in defence they featured Francis Mulimbika, Harry Nyirenda, who was outstanding and Lucky Malata who paved the way for Bongani Kaipa after a knee injury.
On the middle of the park, Alfred Manyozo jnr partnered Semion Singa, while Stanely Sanudi and Mike Kaziputa operated from the wings.
Upfront, Babatunde and Zicco Mkanda were men left with the mantle to score goals, as Francisco Madinga was given a free role.
Come second half, Wanderers made some changes as they brought in Rapson Richards for injured Mike Kaziputa, while Francis Mkonda replaced Madinga.
In the second half, Wanderers continued where they had left in the first 45 minutes as three goals were enough for the visitors courtesy of Babatunde, Mkanda and Nyirenda.
After the match, Coach Bob Mpinganjira hailed his troops for the performance and stressed they are into real business in 2019.
