It’s only a matter of few hours before BE Forward Wanderers preserve their history of winning all inaugural competitions in the country as they face Silver Strikers this afternoon at Bingu International Stadium in Airtel Top 8 Cup finals.

BE Forward Wanderers have a good history against the bankers, having successfully managed to beat them in their last three different cup finals.

The first time they met was in 2012 Standard Bank Cup Finals at Silver Stadium where The Nomads won by 2 goals to nil. They again met in 2013 at Civo Stadium in the same competition and it was BE Forward Wanderers again claiming a 1-0 victory. The two also met last year in another classic Carlsberg Cup Final encounter at Kamuzu Stadium where the bankers lost 6-5 in post-match penalties.

However, according to BE Forward Wanderers Captain, Francis Mulimbika, this is not enough reason to underrate the Bankers because each game is different and it requires a different approach.

“We are going into this game with a winning  mentality no matter what. Each game is different from another but we are keeping our fingers closed to be victorious at the end of the day.

“We have to be focused from the first up to the final whistle and we should not underrate Silver Strikers. With a record that any cup introduced we are the first team to grab it, it makes this game a must win for us,” said Mulimbika in an exclusive interview with this website.
