Be Forward Wanderers  beat Premier Bet Wizards 1-0 in the TNM Super League  match at the Mulanje Park Stadium  on  Sunday afternoon.

The narrow win sees  the Nomads  on  nine position on the league table, with 6 points from 2 games.

The match got off to a positive start and the Nomads  set-piece  Khumbo Ng’ambi had a chance to give his side the lead just eight minutes into the game, but he could not hit the back of the net from a weak shot outside the box.

The  Nomads  took control of the match as it progressed and Joseph Kamwendo, who was looking lively, unleashed a shot from range which sailed over the crossbar in the 23rd minute.

A Good move involving Jabulani Linje  and Rafiq Namwera  five minutes later saw the latter break the offside trap, but Wizards  goalkeeper  did well to read the move and the ball went out of the pitch.

Other notable chances for Wanderers were missed by Lucky Malata and Harry Nyirenda through corner kicks.

Wanderers  were presented with an opportunity to take the lead from a free-kick in a promising area in the 31st minute, but  Ng’ambi  failed to score from the set-piece.

However, it was 1-0 in favour of the Nomads through player of the moment Felix Zulu, as the two teams were going for recess time.

Nomads  goalkeeper Richard Chipuwa , who had a quiet first-half, was called into action seven minutes after the restart and he gathered  Wizards striker flicked header with ease.

Wizards  were looking to press the Nomads  for  an equalizer , but the Nomads stood firmly in defence and midfield were Alfred Manyozo jnr bossed play.

Several changes were made in the second half, as coach Yasin Osman introduced Julius Kajembe for Ng’ambi, while Linje was replaced by Peter Wadabwa.

Injured Joseph Kamwendo paved the way for Mike Kaziputa.

In the end, the Nomads  defence which was led by Lucky Malata   stood firm and ultimately, Wanderers walked away 1-0 winners.
