Beforward Wanderers Executive has applauded a new technical panel for the recent team’s performance.
In an Exclusive interview with Beforward Media, General Secretary Mike Butao said the current technical panel has got it spot on.
“Nobody can fault them. Oscar has come in and taking the team to the first position of the League table. Albert came in, took the team to Karonga and came back with 4 points. So the combination is working wonders,” he said.
Last season The Nomads started poorly and it took them time to address the situation which cost them the title.
“That cost us dearly. This season we had a poor start and we acted swiftly in implementing the necessary solutions to reverse the slump and here we are. In terms of squad we have always made sure we have the best squad in the league and we make sure we improve it every year. While improving the squad,, our other emphasis this season has been reducing the squad, which we have cut from 33 to 28, and reducing the average age of the squad,” he added.
Wanderers are on position one with 26 points from 11 games, same points with Kamuzu Barracks who also have with 26 points from 11 matches but separated on goal difference.
Butao therefore thanked sponsors BE FORWARD for bonus package pledge which he said is also motivating players to perform better.
He said: “Our players are happy lot. This is because of the good and timely money coming in from BE FORWARD. The motivation is high and this is translating into results on the pitch. Remember, the sponsors also pledged a bonus package if team wins the League so you can understand the level of motivation.”
